April 12, 2008 is the official Philippine Launch of the Iron Man Toys made by Hasbro. Demmit that sounds so geeky. Pero, oo, patay na patay ako sa Marvel Character na si Iron Man... and this event, I can't miss!

The event was held in Toy Kingdom Megamall. Opening pa lang (10 am), sangkatutak na collectors na ang nakaabang sa pagbukas ng "iron" doors of Toy Kingdom. It was a riot to get the HTF (Hard-To-Find) figures. When I got there (which is around 10:30am) tatlong variation na lang ng Iron Man movie figures ang natira. And no sets are being sold. Set pa naman ang kukunin ko.

When you buy a figure kasi you get a free iron man movie ticket for every P1000 receipt. And a free poster for every P500. Plus you get a chance to join the nifty contests and raffle where you can win Iron Man toys! Yehey! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Eh kaso, matagal ilabas yung sets. Bumili na ako ng isang figure just to join the contest. There are 3 main contests:

1. On the Spot Drawing Contest - using pencil only
2. On the Spot Armor Making Contest - bibigyan ka ng PlayDoh and plastic body without head, kailangan gumawa ka ng original Iron Man armor
3. Iron Man: Mind Mash - a trivia showdown, paramihan ng masasagutang Iron Man questions.

What to join? I have a chance in all 3 contests. Pero pinakadehado ako sa Mind Mash - my opponents might have read wikipedia to absorb more Iron trivia. But mind you... I know a lot about Iron Man (geek! geek! geeek!) So using my logic, I joined the clay armor making contest dahil tatlo lang kaming maglalaban. The objective is to create an original armor never used before by Iron Man. Ginawa ko yung "HydroThermal Armor Iron Man" it's an armor with fins... and yes... I won that toy I always wanted to buy that day.

I also got a set of 6 inch figures when it came out that day. Life is good for an Iron Fanatic like me. Plus I got a ticket and poster. Wooohooo.
